Ikke Nå is a prequel novelette set three years before book one, in the first December after Birgit died. Ingrid is running Hjertet on her own. There is no Chloe yet. The woman from the bookshop next door has stopped coming in, and nobody in the town has noticed but her.

My household consists of a marmalade cat named Postmark, who is in charge, and a rescue terrier who greets every walk as the last great adventure of his life. I take my tea strong and my mornings early, I keep a notebook in every room on the theory that a good idea should never have far to travel, and I live alone quite happily, with, it should be said, the full approval of the cat.
